Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Principal Engineer - Digital AI, Consumer TIC in the New York area. This role leads AI governance, enterprise and cloud AI initiatives, and the development of assurance services for digital AI systems.

You will move emerging technologies and regulatory requirements into scalable UL Solutions offerings, strengthen AI standards, and guide cross-functional teams through complex risk and compliance challenges.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years in software platforms, cloud systems, AI/ML, cybersecurity, model lifecycle management, or related tech.
• Experience translating AI governance and regulatory requirements into practical evaluation methodologies and certification services.
• Ability to evaluate AI systems, identify risks, gaps, and ensure reliability and fairness.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for AI governance and lifecycle assurance.
• Translate regulations, standards, and customer needs into scalable UL Solutions offerings.
• Lead evaluation, testing, and assurance activities for AI systems across enterprise and cloud environments.
