Job summary

NKC Health is hiring a Primary Care Patient Scheduler for its Call Center. The role centers on coordinating outpatient visits, verifying eligibility, and ensuring accurate patient data entry within the EMR system.

You will handle scheduling, patient communications, and coordinating interpreter services when needed, contributing to smooth clinic operations and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience in a physician office setting preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.
• Typing/keyboard skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic office skills, critical thinking, detail oriented.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments using the EMR system with attention to detail.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and direct calls as needed.
• Search for patients using two identifiers to avoid duplicates.
• Complete eligibility verification and registration accurately.
• Collect patient payments or co-pays.
• Ensure demographic and insurance information is correctly entered.
• Initiate new patient setups and arrange interpreter appointments as necessary.
