Job summary

Optum California is seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician to join our outpatient clinic in a clinician-led, value-based care environment. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with an integrated care model and a focus on outcomes.

Responsibilities include managing patient care in an outpatient setting, performing consultations, follow-ups, and well-checks for adults and seniors, with a typical daily census of 18-20 patients and a 40/20 minute visit schedule.

Qualifications

• EMR proficiency required.
• Active California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start.
• DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain prior to start.

• Provide outpatient care in a clinic setting.
• Conduct consultations and follow-up visits; perform well-checks and screenings.

Primary Care Physician

Optum California is seeking full-time Primary Care Physicians to join our outpatient clinic, where physicians practice in a supportive, clinician-led environment focused on value-based care, collaboration, and patient-centered outcomes.

This role allows you to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients while practicing value-based, patient-centered care supported by an integrated care model. Backed by Optum's resources, technology, and collaborative clinical teams, you'll be able to deliver high-quality care, improve health outcomes, and truly make a difference in the lives of the individuals and families you serve.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible for medical residents
• Active and unrestricted California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current California DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• EMR Proficient

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

• Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm (no call, no weekends)
• Manage patient care in an outpatient setting
• Conduct consultations, follow-up appointments, well-checks, and schedule screenings
• Comfortable seeing patients of all ages, primarily adults/seniors
• Average Daily Patient Census: 18-20 patients
• Appointment schedule: 40 min new patient, 20 min follow-up patient visits
• Dedicated support staff of nurses and medical assistants

For California Residents Only: The salary range for California residents is $260,000-$360,000 per year. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement.
