Job summary

Optum California is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join our established primary care team in San Bernardino, California.

This role emphasizes value-based, patient-centered care within an integrated care model, supported by Optum resources and collaborative clinical teams. You will build long-term relationships with patients and contribute to improved health outcomes.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Board certification or eligibility in FM/IM.
• Active California Medical License or ability to obtain before start.
• CA DEA certificate or ability to obtain before start.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain before start.
• EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage outpatient patient care.
• Conduct consultations, follow-ups, well-checks, and screenings.
• See adults and seniors; average 18–20 patients daily.
• Appointments: 40 min new, 20 min follow-up.
• Collaborate with nurses and medical assistants.

Optum California is seeking a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join our established primary care team in San Bernardino, California.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible for medical residents
• Active and unrestricted California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current California DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• EMR Proficient

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

• Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm (no call, no weekends)
• Manage patient care in an outpatient setting
• Conduct consultations, follow-up appointments, well-checks, and schedule screenings
• Comfortable seeing patients of all ages, primarily adults/seniors
• Average Daily Patient Census: 18-20 patients
• Appointment schedule: 40 min new patient, 20 min follow-up patient visits
• Dedicated support staff of nurses and medical assistants

The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement.
