Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a value-based practice. The MA supports the provider with rooming patients, taking history and vital signs, and coordinating care beyond visits.

In a collaborative, team-based setting, you will document in the EHR, assist with health assessments, manage referrals and prior authorizations, and engage with Upperline Plus patients to support preventive care.

Qualifications

• Certified MA or at least 2 years in a primary care setting.
• Experience in a primary care / outpatient clinic is strongly preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AthenaHealth EMR is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, document vital signs and medical history.
• Assist NP with health assessments in clinic.
• Coordinate care and proactive outreach to improve outcomes.
• Accurately document clinical information in the EHR.
• Perform injections, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.
• Handle referrals, prior authorizations, and care coordination.
• Engage with Upperline Plus patients to support preventive care.
• Collaborate to address social determinants of health and care barriers.
• Support workflow and patient flow within the clinic.
• Other duties as needed by Upperline Health.
