Job summary

Propak is seeking a Pricing Analyst to provide market data, bid strategy, and pricing automation to support the Customer Sales team in winning freight with healthy margins.

You will publish lane-level rate guidance, monitor quotes, and manage automated bidding tools while collaborating with the bid team on RFPs and margin targets. The role drives faster, more accurate pricing across spot and contract freight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field; preferred.
• 2–4 years in freight brokerage pricing, carrier or sales, or transportation analytics; RFP exp. preferred.
• Advanced Excel (pivot, lookup, formulas); TMS and market rate tools (e.g., DAT, SONAR); Power BI or SQL a plus.
• Certifications & licenses: None required.
• Analytical skills: use data and market information to reach pricing conclusions.
• Attention to detail: ensure accuracy in rates, bid files, rules, and reports.
• Business acumen: understand cost, margin, and market drivers and pricing impact.
• Collaboration: work with Customer Sales, Carrier Sales, and leadership toward goals.
• Communication: strong written and verbal communication.
• Problem solving: find solutions proactively.
• Technical aptitude: learn pricing tools, automation, and data systems quickly.
• Time management: meet bid deadlines and deliver pricing guidance on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Publish and maintain lane-level rate guidance by lane and equipment type using market data and costs.
• Monitor quotes against margin floors; flag below-floor quotes for escalation.
• Build, configure, and maintain automated bidding rules and routing.
• Review automated bidding win rate and margin performance weekly; suggest adjustments.
• Maintain customer portal and TMS connections used for automated bidding.
• Partner with the bid team on customer bids/RFPs, lane analysis, and benchmarking.
• Recommend RFP margins and submit final bid pricing for approval.
• Conduct post-award reviews and lane analysis for performance against rates.
• Track pricing KPIs like quote win rate, rate accuracy, and bidding margin.
• Monitor market conditions and lane trends; advise on pricing strategy.
