Job summary

Veritiv Corp in Chicago is seeking a 2nd Press Operator to assist the Press Operators with make-readies, press equipment operations and quality control functions.

You will read job tickets, verify stock and ink match specs, pull samples, and ensure production meets customer deadlines while following safety policies. The role requires ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Second Press Operator.
• Ability to read job tickets for stock and color specifications.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operators with press make ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided.
• Perform folder set ups and maintain press register and color.
• Read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications.
• Verify that stock and ink match job specs on ticket.
• Perform quality pull sheet procedures according to Orora press SOPs.
• Ensure samples are pulled and labeled according to Orora press SOPs.
• Ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines.
• Follow all safety policies and regulations.
• Assist in performing routine maintenance on the press with the press team members as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
