Job summary

Veritiv Corporation is seeking an Assistant Press Operator to support the press room in Chicago. You will assist with make-readies, operate the press per written instructions, and help ensure ink and stock meet job specifications while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires the ability to read tickets, perform quality checks, and collaborate with a team to meet customer deadlines. Experience in fast-paced environments and flexibility for night/weekend shifts are desired.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Second Press Operator.
• Ability to read and understand job tickets and verify stock and ink match specs.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

## Assistant Press Operator for KBA205Apply: OPS - Visual Chicago IL: Full time: Posted Today: R32123**Job Purpose:**Our 2nd Pressperson will be responsible for assisting lead operators in the press room. This role will assist other operators with make readies, press equipment operations, and perform quality control functions.**Job Responsibilities:**● Ability to assist Pressperson with press make ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided. ● Follow SOP's, be able to read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications, and verify that stock and ink match job specs on ticket. ● Perform folder set ups and maintain press register and color. ● Perform quality pull sheet procedures, pull samples, and ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines. ● Follow all safety policies and regulations. ● Assist in performing routine maintenance on the press with the press team members as required.**Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:**● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.● Ability to work independently as well as with a team.● Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.● UV Experience is a plus**Work Experience:**● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.### ### ● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.### ### ● Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Second Press Operator.### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### **Education:**● High School Diploma/GED Preferred### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### ### **Working Conditions:** The work environment for this position requires: ● Regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur. ● Exposure to loud noise. ● Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.**Physical Requirements:** The physical requirements listed below are representative of those needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. ● Ability to lift, twist and carry up 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack. ● Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter. ● Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment. ● Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance . ● Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.
