Job summary

Veritiv Corporation in Chicago, IL is seeking an Assistant Press Operator to support press operators with make-readies, setup, and color control. The role involves reading job tickets, verifying stock and ink against specs, and ensuring samples are correctly pulled and labeled.

You will work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, and assist in routine press maintenance. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and the ability to work both independently and with a crew.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Second Press Operator.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Regularly operate and assist with press make-readies and color control as per SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operators with make ready and operate press per written instructions.
• Perform folder set ups and maintain press register and color.
• Read and interpret job tickets for stock and color specifications.
• Verify stock and ink match job specs on tickets.
• Perform quality pull sheet procedures and label samples per SOPs.
• Ensure each job meets customer specs and deadlines.
• Support in routine press maintenance with the team.
• Other duties as assigned.
