Job summary

The Sheridan Group is seeking an Assistant Print Production Technician (Rolltender) to join our Press team on a 12-hour day shift. You’ll help set up and run offset presses, read job specs, install plates, adjust color, monitor quality, and keep equipment running smoothly with hands-on training provided.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills including fractions/decimals, and an aptitude for mechanical work. No previous printing experience required—we’ll train you.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math including fractions/decimals.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment.
• Attention to detail and pride in quality work.
• Able to read and follow job specifications and adjust equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate single- and multi-color offset printing presses.
• Read job instructions and prepare the press for each project.
• Install printing plates, adjust registration, and prepare for production.
• Make color and quality adjustments to meet standards.
• Monitor equipment and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs to keep presses running.
• Work safely and collaboratively with a team.
