Job description

Key role responsibilities

  1. Operate machinery involved in highly repetitive and routine functions whereas the equipment is highly automated performing such tasks as riveting, staking, and assembling.
  2. Remove filled tubes from tube trays, visually check for complete fill, cap tubes, pack in boxes, with prescribed discs and label. Use SPC to record tube weights.
  3. Position parts, actuate machine controls, and visually check work for properly riveted parts and obvious defects such as incorrect hole size, cracked rivets, stripped threads, or improper alignment.
  4. Perform bench assembly operation and use fixed gauges.
  5. Work from drawings, route sheets, written, and verbal instructions.
  6. Report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  7. Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Additional experience, training, or formal education is beneficial.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills necessary, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Heavy lifting required (50+ lbs). Lift truck operator experience required.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
