Responsibilities

THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

The Packer/Handler ensures, by visual inspection, that all containers and lids are manufactured and packaged according to company standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

1. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
2. Inspect products to ensure quality. Set aside products that do not meet quality standards. Work closely with Leads and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. Watch molds for irregularities or sticking. Respond promptly to quality issues.
3. Complete assembly of products by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required, keeping up with production machine cycles.
4. Flame containers and lids when required.
5. Stack and pack products according to instructions that vary with different customers and orders.
6. Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
7. Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed.
8. When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the Packer/Handler will use this time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes, or perform other tasks assigned by the team leader or supervisor.
9. Accurately complete any required paperwork.
10. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Experience, Skills, & Abilities

1. Must keep up with fast-paced production cycles.
2. Require agility and consistent attention to detail.
3. Able to tolerate constant repetition.
4. Some workstations may require sitting or standing for long periods.
5. Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach.
6. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds safely.
7. Must identify alpha/numeric product codes.
8. Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Preferred Experience, Skills, & Abilities

1. Previous production experience is a plus but not required.
2. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English is a plus.
