Our client, a Philadelphia area firm, is looking for a President who can help double the business over the next few years. Compensation will be competitive and based on experience.
This position is located in Philadelphia area, and relocation will be provided.
Scope and Responsibilities
The President will be charged to lead the organization with an eye on doubling the business through organic and inorganic means within 3 to 5 years. Their efforts will be heavily skewed to organic growth with existing customers. They will help increase the backlog and reduce time to complete projects.
For inorganic growth, the President will contribute as needed in due diligence and integration.
The President will provide leadership, technical oversight, management, innovative vision, and overall direction to the company’s operations and construction functions. Projects will cover a broad range of professional demands/opportunities from new construction to renovations. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in leading the safety program implementation, process optimization, problem resolution, cost reduction / analysis, quality improvement and innovative construction methods.
The position requires a high degree of leadership capability which includes management, communication and leadership skills.

Specific Responsibilities
- Provide leadership direction, coordination and oversight for the company’s operations.
- Work with a CEO and Board of Directors and provide timely reports and key updates on company performance.
- Deliver forecasted quarterly and annual budgets to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Foster a high-performance culture centered on a unified vision, disciplined execution, and organization-wide buy-in
- Produce metrics, reports, and data related to projects and/or management of the business.
- Develop and maintain the company’s construction and engineering competency in existing areas as well as in new areas of opportunity.
- Make recommendations on manpower needs and manage departmental development.
- Develop a team with the ability to research new processes for construction and operational process improvement.
- Grow a team that can evaluate construction problems/conditions, take responsibility for solutions and provide support and oversight for new installations.
- Ensure high quality projects are completed right the first time.
- Evaluate the performance and results of all projects, services and initiatives as well as people.
- Willingness to work from the headquarters outside of Philadelphia.
- Experience and familiarity with unions is a requirement.
- Be responsible for the overall financial performance of the organization and achievement of hitting quarterly and annual budgets.
- Provide oversight for company cash flow and capital expenditure budgets.
Key Selection Criteria
- Minimum of fifteen years’ experience in any of the areas of Engineering and / or Construction
- Proven track record of successfully overseeing hard bid electrical contracting work.
- Exemplary leadership skills.
- Ability to lead with an entrepreneurial spirit for growth.
- Extensive project management and development skills are a critical skill set for this role and the ability to develop these skills in others is essential.
- Experience in leading electricians, linemen, engineers, construction specialists and other professionals in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing leaders within engineering and construction professions.
- Good communication skills and excellent knowledge of standard business software are necessary.
- Preference for candidates with experience in electrical and/or specialty contracting, particularly in hard-bid environments
