Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Regional Manager to oversee a network of centers and dealerships, drive new business, and mentor General Managers. You will lead weekly alignment meetings, conduct audits, and guide training initiatives across the region.

You will resolve financials, manage invoicing, and train dealers while ensuring compliance with local regulations. Expect travel to sites and active participation in U-Haul education programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work on call and hold regular meetings with area managers.
• Excellent public speaking and leadership abilities required.
• Extensive familiarity with U-Haul’s corporate structure.
• D.O.T. and forklift certifications required.

Job description

• Hire and educate General Managers
• Meet weekly with Area Field Managers and Repair Dispatch Managers
• Hold regular meetings with GMs for planning, training, and audits
• Resolve customer files daily and analyze profit/loss
• Manage the invoicing process
• Manage the customer review process
• Visit 5–6 dealers per week and train and support newer dealers
• Stay current on local zoning and code-enforcement laws
• Attend city council meetings regarding area Marketing Company acquisitions and properties
• Open or buy properties for building projects and build connections for future growth
• Appraise areas using demographic and socioeconomic data
• Manage distribution of merit pay
• Administer job satisfaction surveys
• Listen to and resolve team member, customer, and manager conflicts
• Lead end-of-month meetings
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University

Requirements

• Ability to work on call
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Extensive familiarity with U-Haul Company’s corporate structure
• D.O.T. and forklift certification
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods indoors and outdoors
• Ability to traverse spaces and reposition to reach and use tools
• Ability to move a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted
• Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields when required
• Compliance with applicable nicotine-product hiring restrictions
