Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring for a field-based role supporting U-Haul dealership routes in Des Moines, IA. You will prospect, open, and grow relationships with small business owners and U-Haul dealers, while ensuring service quality and safety standards.

You will analyze route profitability, train dealers on growth opportunities, supervise equipment maintenance, and coordinate with support staff to keep U-Haul operations efficient and compliant on the move.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain a D.O.T. health certificate from a federally registered medical examiner.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to work around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritant chemicals with required safety precautions.
• Ability to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods indoors and outdoors, traverse spaces, reposition to reach and use tools, and move a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.

• Manage route profit and loss through analysis and grow the route through transactions by providing products and services to communities served
• Service and maintain current U-Haul equipment and displays
• Work with support staff to ensure the success and efficiency of U-Haul dealerships within the route
• Operate a properly stocked and maintained U-Haul service vehicle
• Distribute equipment throughout the route
• Perform minor repair and maintenance on U-Haul equipment
• Arrange for recovery of lost, stolen or abandoned U-Haul equipment
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University
