Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a customer-focused team member to support U-Haul customers with products and services at the Auburn, ME location. The role involves using U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory, moving and hooking up trucks, and ensuring equipment safety and cleanliness.

You will educate customers, prepare rental invoices, and participate in ongoing education through U-Haul University, while performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills and ability to educate customers about products.
• Ability to manage equipment rentals and inventory using smartphone technology.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; able to operate equipment.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Assist customers inside and outside a U-Haul center with U-Haul products and services
• Use smartphone-based U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory
• Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers
• Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, including checking fluid levels
• Answer questions and educate customers regarding products and services
• Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental
• Install hitches and trailer wiring
• Fill propane
• Drive a forklift
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to move equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted
• Ability to work around moving parts or machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals
• May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields
