Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking a Health Services Coordinator to support Preschool Special Education, coordinating health services and individualized plans for students at the Gordon Early Literacy Center with periodic travel across Chester County.

Responsibilities include coordinating health information, medications, and emergency procedures, collaborating with families and educators, and delivering staff training on health procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Public Health, Health Education or similar required.
• 3-5 years experience as RN, LPN, or Medical Assistant required.
• Proficiency with word processing, electronic student records, email and internet.
• Current CPR/First Aid certifications required; Instructor certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review student health information prior to program entry and coordinate health plans and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate, monitor, and document required student medical and dental information and follow-up services.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and healthcare providers to address chronic medical conditions and health-related needs.
• Support storage and administration of medications in accordance with Pennsylvania regulations and CCIU procedures.
• Respond to urgent student health concerns and provide guidance to staff regarding interventions and emergency responses.
• Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to support health-related educational needs.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and update health services plans and protocols; monitor compliance.
• Train preschool staff on medical emergencies, chronic health conditions, medications, and safety.
