Job summary

The Olympia School District is seeking a 1:1 Student Specific Paraeducator to assist certificated staff with IEP-related plans, behavior support, and student supervision for two preschool students.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 4.8 hours per day, with required attachments, health benefits, retirement options, vacation and holidays as outlined in the CBA. Candidates must meet education and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Education required: high school diploma and one of the listed assessments or credits.
• Criminal fingerprint clearance is required.
• Experience with school-age children in special education is preferred.
• First Aid/CPR training may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with IEP plan implementation and related goals.
• Create educational materials to support student progress toward IEP objectives.
• Collect and communicate data to evaluate student progress.
• Administer first aid and address health care needs as needed.
• Maintain student files to support appropriate educational programs.
• Monitor students for safety and adapt curriculum and schedules as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to implement student programs and goals.
