Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking an HIV Prevention Navigator to support the HIV prevention program, promote PrEP and PEP, and work with patients and ED staff to ensure prevention services are provided. The role includes risk counseling, referrals, education, and collaboration with HIV care navigators to expand PrEP/PEP adoption across campuses.

The Navigator will assist with documentation, HIPAA compliance, monthly reporting, and engagement in community programming to advance HIV prevention efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science is required.
• Education specialization: Social Work or Public Health.
• 2+ years in social service field.
• Master of Arts or Science.
• Education specialization: Equivalent Experience.

Responsibilities

• Support HIV prevention program to promote PrEP and PEP at Penn Medicine.
• Assess, triage, and provide risk counseling for City of Philadelphia residents calling the PEP COE.
• Collaborate with ED leadership to model referral to PrEP/PEP providers.
• Provide education for ED staff on HIV prevention and routine offering of PrEP/PEP.
• Explain HIV/AIDS, STI risks and testing processes to clients.
• Assist in tracking condoms and safer-sex materials distribution.
• Provide post-test counseling and referrals for PrEP/PEP as needed.
• Complete mandated reporter training and participate in staff meetings.
