Job summary

Qualifications

• Prep cook experience in high-volume environments.
• Basic knowledge of food prep techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of ingredients for cooking following recipes.
• Follow established portion control procedures to minimize food waste.
• Organize and stock ingredients and supplies for smooth workflow during meal service.
• Maintain a high degree of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas, including equipment, countertops, and storage areas, following food safety regulations.
• Follow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and ensure food quality and freshness.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, labeling prep items, receiving supplies, and notifying the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and workflow.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with dishwashing duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
