Job summary

PopStroke is seeking a prep cook to join our kitchen team. You will help prepare ingredients, follow recipes, and maintain line efficiency to ensure smooth service. This role is non-exempt and paid hourly.

Pay rate ranges from $18 to $24 per hour, and weekends and holidays are required. You will work with a collaborative team to uphold cleanliness, safety, and quality across all kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a prep cook in a high-volume environment.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and marinating, following recipes and portion guidelines.
• Follow established portion control procedures to minimize food waste.
• Organize and stock ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth workflow during meal service.
• Maintain a high degree of cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas, including equipment, countertops, and storage areas, following food safety regulations.
• Follow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and ensure food quality and freshness.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, labeling prep items, receiving supplies, and notifying the chef or manager of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and workflow.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with dishwashing duties as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
