Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and CovenantCare Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Prep Cook to accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold foods for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events in a Senior Living/Healthcare setting.

The role requires interpreting standardized recipes, maintaining sanitation, and complying with federal, state, and local regulations. Experience is not mandatory, but 0-2 years in food service is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit is required.
• ServSafe training is beneficial.
• State sanitation certificate is required or beneficial for the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks to order foods with short prep time.
• May operate a grill station and serve a la carte.
• Prepares foods according to federal, state and corporate standards for quality.
• Reads orders and prepares food as instructed.
• Maintains high sanitation standards and food safety practices.
• Tastes, seasons, and plates items with garnish as ordered.
