Job summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Prep Cook to support the kitchen team with precise prep and adherence to standards.

You will interpret daily prep lists, portion a variety of meats and vegetables, maintain a clean workstation and follow safety rules, while staying flexible with shifts including weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication with supervisors and guests, and consistent quality.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience.
• Positive energy and ability to work as a team player.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and guests.
• A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting.

Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List for each shift and complete opening and closing checklists and promptly report equipment, food quality problems, or product shortages to Chef.
• Prepares and portions a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven flat top range, refrigeration equipment, and adhere to all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation.
