Job summary

OHSO Brewery and Distillery in Phoenix, AZ is seeking dependable Prep Cooks to keep the kitchen prepared, organized, and ready for service. You will follow recipes, prep sheets, labeling standards, and FIFO to ensure quality and freshness.

Responsibilities include preparing sauces and proteins, portioning ingredients, dating and storing items, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting other kitchen team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler’s Card.
• Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to follow recipes, prep sheets, and food-safety procedures.
• Ability to stand for 5–8 hours and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to help wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sauces, dressings, and other recipe components.
• Prepare proteins in bulk (bacon, brisket, short rib).
• Cut, slice, and portion ingredients for service.
• Follow recipes and prep sheets to avoid mis-prep.
• Label, date, portion, and store all prepared items.
• Follow FIFO procedures at all times.
• Monitor product dates and freshness standards.
• Maintain high quality and consistency of prepared items.
• Keep prep areas and storage clean and organized.
• Follow all food-safety and workplace-safety procedures.
• Assist dishwashers and kitchen team members as needed.
• Communicate clearly with chefs and team members.
