Job summary

OHSO BREWERY AND DISTILLERY in Gilbert, AZ is seeking dependable Prep Cooks to keep the kitchen prepared, organized, and ready for service. You’ll follow recipes, prep sheets, cutting procedures, and labeling standards to prepare ingredients for daily service.

You'll help maintain clean work areas, date and rotate items using FIFO, and support dishwashers and other kitchen team members as needed. The role emphasizes teamwork, efficiency, and food-safety commitment.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler’s Card.
• Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Positive attitude and teamwork.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
• Ability to follow recipes, prep sheets, and food-safety procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand for five to eight hours at a time.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to help wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sauces, dressings, and other recipe components.
• Prepare proteins in bulk, including bacon, brisket, and short rib.
• Cut, slice, and portion ingredients for service.
• Follow recipe specifications and prep sheets to avoid over-prepping or under-prepping.
• Label, date, portion, and store all prepared items.
• Follow F.I.F.O. procedures at all times.
• Monitor product dates and ensure all food remains within approved freshness standards.
• Maintain high quality and consistency in all prepared items.
• Keep prep areas, walk-ins, and kitchen storage areas clean and organized.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Assist dishwashers and other kitchen team members when business needs require it.
• Communicate clearly with chefs, cooks, and other team members.
• Step in wherever needed to support the kitchen team.
