Job summary

Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment is seeking an experienced Kitchen Intern/Prep role to support room chefs and pastry cooks in a fast-paced casino kitchen. You will learn cooking and baking techniques, prep foods, and assist in various Food & Beverage venues under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and six months in a kitchen or related role. You must be 18+, pass background checks, and obtain a gaming license as required.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High School Degree or GED preferred.
• Six months in a working kitchen or six months as a Kitchen Steward or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Learn to prepare a variety of foods according to menu and demand.
• Follow standardized recipes and kitchen procedures.
• Communicate clearly with Lead Cooks and Room Chefs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, sanitized work area following health codes.
• Assist in storage, labeling, and dating of all food storage areas.
• Work as part of a team to support all Food & Beverage venues.
