Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals.
- Properly measures ingredients and assembles them in accordance with the chef’s specifications. Use a scale to ensure proper portioning of food items.
- Wash, peel, and prepare raw food products; chop vegetables and make salads.
- Cut and portion different types of meat.
- Portions the food and prepares the dishes for plating.
- Ensure leftover food is stored properly.
- Test the temperature of foods at specified intervals.
- Cleans, organizes and maintains refrigerators, coolers, and dry storage areas. Restock items as needed. Keep track of ingredient quantities and ensure there are always enough.
- Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
- Open and close the restaurant and perform related work as requested.
- Ability to perform objectives in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on quality while always maintaining a positive and professional approach with coworkers.
- Promote and embrace the restaurant’s community and culture by demonstrating respect, positive energy, dependability, honesty, initiative, outgoing nature, and a pleasant, professional appearance.
- Support the restaurant's vision and responsibility of being eco-conscious.
- Assist the team as needed. Perform related work as requested; model and promote teamwork.
Qualifications
- Must possess solid knowledge of the restaurant food industry and be able to take instruction well.
- One year of experience or comparable. Desire to expand restaurant knowledge.
- Superior temperament, adaptable nature, and good communication skills.
- Demonstrate integrity in all areas, both personal and professional.
- Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly.
- The ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
- Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level.
- Working with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment as well as operating office equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk.
- May be required to work in very warm or cold conditions for an extended period of time.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 45 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Operation of any high-pressure steam boiler or high-temperature water boiler.

Salary
- $16.00 - $21.00 per hour plus service fee
