Qualifications

• Preoperative or PACU nursing experience; 1 year required.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing.
• ACLS, PALS and BLS/BCLS certifications within required timelines.
• Ability to perform comprehensive preoperative and postoperative assessments.
• Strong communication and teamwork in perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of processes.
• Apply appropriate discharge criteria for patient transfer.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia care plans.
• Administer medications safely and manage pain and comfort.
• Provide hand-off reports and collaborate with the care team.
• Maintain patient safety, privacy, and dignity throughout perioperative care.
• Engage in quality review and performance improvement initiatives.
