Job summary

This hands-on role requires lifting up to 90 lbs, standing long shifts, and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Prior meat department work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing and friendly with strong customer interaction
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Perform general housekeeping and adhere to safety guidelines
• Stand up to 4 hours at a time; up to 8 hours per shift; may walk up to 2 miles
• Able to work in a temperature-controlled environment and safely operate knives and meat processing equipment
• Able to lift/carry 25–90 lbs. and move pallets up to 500 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level of customer service and assist with questions and special orders
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload deliveries and rotate stock
• Count and weigh items; verify against invoices and maintain product quality
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the meat department
• Be knowledgeable of weekly ads and help customers locate products
