Job summary

Hoar is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to oversee the entire preconstruction process from concept to design and contractor selection in Nashville, TN. You will guide projects from early design through start of construction, ensuring budget adherence and scheduling while coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, and the design team.

The role requires traveling up to 15% and involves leading design/preconstruction meetings, evaluating proposals, and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in a Pre-construction/Estimating environment on large commercial or industrial projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction cost estimating, conceptual budgeting, and scheduling.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Valid Driver's License Required.
• LEED AP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accuracy and quality of estimates, drawing reviews, specification reviews and all construction documents.
• Develop and maintain relationships with client/owner, architect/engineer, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Maintain current estimating records and unit prices.
• Collaborate with Project Manager in contractor/subcontractor proposal evaluation.
• Prepare preliminary to construction estimates; monitor design development for potential cost overruns; participate in value engineering.
• Participate in preparation of construction schedule for preconstruction purposes.
• Support Business Development and participate in networking events during and after work hours.
• Lead scheduling, planning, conducting, and facilitating design/preconstruction meetings with Owners and design team.
