Job summary

Hoar Construction seeks an Assistant Preconstruction Manager to support preconstruction services for large commercial projects. You will assist with quantity take-offs, bid processes, budgeting and design coordination, while helping ensure schedule, cost control and quality throughout design stages. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Ideal candidates hold a related Bachelor's degree and 1–4 years in pre-construction/estimating, with proficiency in Sketchup/Revit and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 1–4 years in pre-construction/estimating with large commercial or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of cost estimating, budgeting and scheduling principles.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed quantity take-offs for conceptual estimates.
• Assist in managing bid processes and subcontractor participation.
• Support assembly of estimates including general/special conditions and bonds.
• Analyze subcontractor pricing for completeness and compliance.
• Assist design teams with reviews for constructability and quality.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes and maintain action lists.
• Assist with information needed for budget preparation and design meetings.
• Support subcontractor solicitation and early client presentations.
