Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. in Austin seeks a Preconstruction Manager I to lead estimating and cost modeling for projects from $5M to $100M+. You’ll develop accurate estimates, perform detailed take-offs, and guide preconstruction decisions with project teams.

Responsibilities include subcontractor pricing, value design, and cost history maintenance. The role requires a four-year degree and 4–6 years of construction experience, with strong Excel and design software familiarity.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering, architectural or management degree required.
• Four to six years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read plans and understand means and methods.
• Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.
• Strong quantity take-off capabilities and data summarization.
• Working knowledge of Excel; familiarity with OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks and Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed estimates with project managers.
• Perform quantity take-offs of construction systems.
• Create estimates independently and with a team.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgets and bids.
• Scope and select subcontractors based on value and requirements.
• Record final estimates and maintain cost history; manage project scope.
