Qualifications

• 1-2 years related Acumed experience or 3-5 years external experience.
• Completion of Tooling U and/or enrolled in Machining Classes.
• Mastery of Level 1 competencies on the Acumed Machinist Career Ladder.
• Demonstrated set-up competency on cell-specific machine tools.
• Troubleshooting skills and basic programming understanding.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Basic math skills and reading English to complete docs.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Able to read and speak English sufficiently for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operates production machine tools to maintain quality, cost and delivery.
• Operates and maintains turning machines including lathes and Swiss lathes.
• Starts and observes operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work.
• Visually inspects surfaces for flaws and smoothness; maintains cleanliness.
• Performs general set-ups for maximum utilization and conducts preventative maintenance.
• Mentor and trains Machinist 1; troubleshoots with Senior Machinist guidance.
• Collaborates with Senior Machinist and Process Engineers to improve cell processes.
