Job summary

Acumed LLC is seeking a Machinist to set up and operate turning machines, lathes and Swiss lathes to produce precision parts. First shift 5:00AM–3:30PM, Monday–Thursday. You will load/unload, inspect surfaces and help improve cell processes under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Acumed experience or 3–5 years external and a High School diploma, basic math, and English proficiency. Training through Tooling U or machining classes is preferred.

Qualifications

1–2 years related Acumed experience, or 3–5 years external experience.
Completion of Tooling U and/or enrollment in Machining Classes, or equivalent.
Mastery of Level 1 competencies on Acumed Machinist Career Ladder and Qualifications.
Demonstrated set-up competency on Cell-specific Machine Tools, with acceptable results.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate production machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
Operate and maintain turning machines, including Lathes and Swiss Lathes.
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Visually inspect surfaces for flaws and smoothness.
Perform preventative maintenance as required and assist in cell process improvements.
