Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking experienced Toolmakers for a Hastings, Michigan facility. You will build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing, reading drawings and setting up manual and CNC tools.

This full-time, direct-hire role offers a $33.00-$38.00 per hour DOE plus shift premiums, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, PTO, and opportunities for career advancement. 2nd and 3rd shifts available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent plus toolmaking apprenticeship.
• Four years Toolmaker experience or eight years progressive toolmaking in manufacturing.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, CAD prints, and technical documentation.
• Proficient with manual and CNC tool room equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling.
• Interpret drawings and CAD prints to determine machining methods and material needs.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Inspect tooling and machined components for conformance to specs.
• Diagnose tooling failures and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe Tool Room and support continuous improvement initiatives.
