Job summary

Saint Cyr Partners is seeking experienced Toolmakers for a Hastings, Michigan facility. You will build and repair dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling for high-volume production, reading engineering drawings and CAD prints to determine methods and sequences.

You will set up manual and CNC tool room equipment, perform precision surface work, and ensure tight tolerances while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with related industrial experience.
• Completion of a recognized Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship with four years of toolmaker experience, or eight years of progressive toolmaker experience.
• Experience reading drawings and CAD prints, and using precision measuring instruments.
• Experience building and repairing production dies, fixtures, and tooling.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and specs to plan machining.
• Plan and perform precision machining, bench work, fitting, assembly, and finishing.
• Set up and operate manual machines and CNC tool room equipment.
• Inspect tooling and machined components against drawings and specs.
• Diagnose tool failures, perform repairs, and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized tool room and support continuous improvement.
