Our client, a global manufacturing company in Hastings, Michigan, seeks an experienced Toolmaker to build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume production. You will read engineering drawings, set up mills, lathes, and CNC tool room equipment, and ensure tight tolerances with high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent plus recognized Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship (or 8 years progressive Toolmaker experience).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints and technical specifications.
• Experience operating manual machines and CNC Tool Room equipment; precise measuring with common tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling (dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, production tooling).
• Interpret drawings/CAD to determine machining methods and material needs.
• Set up, operate, and maintain manual and CNC equipment; perform precision grinding and fitment.
