Job summary

Hire Consulting Services is helping a global manufacturing client fill a Toolmaker position at their Hastings, Michigan facility. You will build, repair, modify, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling for high-volume operations.

You will read engineering drawings, set up manual and CNC tool room equipment, perform precision machining, and verify tolerances with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship with a minimum of four years' Toolmaker experience, or eight years of progressive Toolmaker experience within a manufacturing environment.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industrial experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain precision tooling for high-volume manufacturing.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, CAD prints to determine machining methods and material requirements.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC tool room equipment and perform precision surface grinding.
• Assemble tooling and machined components, verify dimensions with precision measuring tools.
• Inspect tooling to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement repairs to minimize downtime.
