Top Dog Recruiting is seeking a Toolmaker for a Hastings, Michigan manufacturing facility. The role focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling for high-volume production, with emphasis on reading drawings and operating CNC Tool Room equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a Tool & Die apprenticeship or 4+ years of experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a keen eye for quality. This is a full-time direct-hire opportunity with shift options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Tool & Die or Toolmaker Apprenticeship, or 4+ years related experience.
• Experience reading engineering drawings, CAD prints.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools.
• Strong teamwork and communication.

Responsabilités

• Build, repair, modify, and maintain dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling for high-volume production.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, CAD prints, and specs to plan machining.
• Set up and operate mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and CNC Tool Room equipment.
• Perform precision surface grinding and assemble tooling components.
• Inspect tooling for conformance to specs and quality standards.
• Diagnose tooling failures and implement repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain clean, safe Tool Room and support continuous improvement.
