Job summary

Bodycote, the world’s largest provider of thermal processing services, seeks a Thermal Spray Technician based in Hebron, KY to perform coating operations under the direction of the Production Supervisor and meet customer specifications.

You will document data in job folders, follow safety rules, and contribute to on-time delivery. Prior plasma, thermal spray, or HVOF experience is preferred, and ITAR compliance requires US citizenship or permanent residence.

Qualifications

• ITAR compliance: candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
• Education: high school diploma or equivalent plus technical certification or two-year technical degree.
• Experience in a production environment showing capability to learn thermal spray processes.
• Ability to perform mechanical measurements (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Organized, detailed and accurate work.
• Good communication with co-workers and management.
• Documentation skills with MS Office (Excel/Word).
• Previous plasma, thermal spray and/or HVOF spray experience preferred.
• Familiarity with large multi-axis robotics and associated programming tools preferred.
• Advanced documentation and computer skills preferred.
• Thermal spray process experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care and treatment of customer inventory; work safely to prevent loss or damage.
• Review job folder to verify masking, cleaning, blasting, and coating requirements.
• Record and sign off on data defined in the job folder.
• Report coating problems, inaccuracies, or damaged parts/tools to the Thermal Spray Lead.
• Proper use of coating materials, equipment and documentation.
• Follow in-process inspection procedures to meet customer/technical requirements.
• Complete spray operations timely and accurately per work instructions.
• Document required data within the job folder.
• Maintain high quality output with attention to zero rework.
• Maintain attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Assist supervisor in developing processes to improve operations.
• Aim for 100% on-time delivery and effective communication with leadership and coworkers.
