Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
• 3–5 years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• If applicable based on location, ability to operate forklifts and acquire forklift certification.
• If applicable based on location, ability to operate overhead cranes and acquire overhead crane certification.
• Strong hands-on working knowledge operating machines.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints/shop drawings.
• The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
• Must be able to read a tape measure to within 1/32

Responsibilities

• Load machine programs, as needed, specific to product orders.
• Process material in accordance with shop drawings through the use of designated machines.
• Troubleshoot causes of operating errors and determine possible resolutions.
• Maintain material traceability.
• Seek opportunities for improvements within the manufacturing department.
• Perform tasks according to production needs to minimize downtime.
• Determine machine maintenance needs and perform light maintenance.
• Manage time to efficiently produce quality products within designated work hours.
• Communicate information and provide feedback with co-workers and supervisors.
• Perform lean, 5S, and general housekeeping.
• Operate PLC controlled leveling and shearing machines when applicable.
• Load steel via coil cart and unband steel coil for the cut-to-length machine.
• Use overhead crane and forklift to move materials when applicable.
• Other duties as required and/or assigned.
