Job summary

Optimax Systems, Inc. is seeking Optical Manufacturing Technicians for off shifts to produce precision optics for aerospace, defense and consumer electronics. The role covers setup, grinding, polishing and testing with CNC and non‑CNC equipment.

You will read blueprints, interpret specifications, and operate interferometers and CMMs while maintaining quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. OJT provided with advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training desirable.
• AAS/AS in manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Proficient with basic shop math and reading blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret lens specifications from blue prints, drawings and work orders.
• Set up and operate equipment including CNC and non-CNC generating equipment, grinding, polishing, centering and inspection.
• Mount work and tooling on fixtures and machines, using adhesive, friction, or vacuum.
• Select premixed compounds or mix grinding and polishing compounds per formula.
• Grind and polish optics to specifications.
• Learn to operate Interferometers, coordinate measuring machines and other testing equipment.
• Inspect in-process optics for conformance to specifications.
