Job summary

ASML US, LLC in Wilton, CT is seeking an Optical Technician for continuous polishing of advanced optical components used in semiconductor lithography. You will grind, polish, measure with metrology tools, and ensure parts meet precise specifications while following safety procedures.

No prior experience is required for the role, but you should have strong attention to detail, ability to work with hand tools, and be committed to quality and teamwork in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (4-7 Years) of continuous polishing machines
• High School or trade school graduate or GED
• Intermediate mathematical skills including use of basic math, geometry and trigonometry
• Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with Windows 10, MS Office & SAP
• Demonstrated experience polishing optical glasses, glass-ceramics and crystals

Responsibilities

• Grind and polish optics on conventional spindles, continuous grinders and polishers
• Perform blocking and unblocking of parts
• Ability to work safely on fragile high value optics
• Measures work-piece for conformance to specifications
• Notifies supervisor of discrepancies
• Follows written and verbal English work instructions that describe the process and the required measurements
• Possesses strong blueprint interpretation skills
• Familiarity with measurement tools: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gages, and pH meters
• Verify settings by regularly measuring parts before and after changes
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Candidate will be required to wear PPE and embrace ASML 5S requirements
