Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting is seeking an Assembler for a precision manufacturing facility in Akron, OH. The role focuses on bridging final machining, detail finishing, and protective packaging to ship defect-free products on time. You will read engineering drawings, perform deburring, polishing, assembly, and inspection with calipers, micrometers, and surface gauges.

Lift up to 35 lbs, operate overhead cranes, and maintain organized work areas. Shift is 1st, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Experience in precision metal finishing, deburring, or mechanical assembly.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and BOMs.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Hands-on with die grinders, sanders, buffers, and pneumatic hand tools.
Attention to detail in shipping docs, part numbers, and order counts.
Familiarity with rust prevention materials and protective packaging.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and use overhead cranes safely.

Responsibilities

Clean, deburr, polish, and blend machined components using hand tools and grinders.
Assemble machined parts into finished units per drawings and BOMs.
Protect surfaces from damage during production and packaging.
Create chamfers, radii, and finishes without altering critical dimensions.
Apply part identification via laser marking, stamping, or tagging.
Verify part numbers and quantities against job packets before packaging.
Package components with protective wrap and rust preventatives.
Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Identify and segregate suspect or nonconforming material.
