Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated Meat Cutter for our Fairfax, VA location to cut, weigh, wrap and merchandize fresh meats while upholding safety and quality standards. You’ll assist with case presentation and ensure accurate labeling and inventory to support member needs.

Ideal candidates have prior meat-cutting experience or an applicable apprenticeship, with the ability to stand, lift, and work in a fast-paced retail environment. We support growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages with Members by making recommendations and answering questions on meat, poultry, and seafood. Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company cutting standards. Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to packaging standards.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates. Keeps cases stocked and signage accurate.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards in the meat department and assists in other related duties as needed.
• Regular, predictable full attendance is expected as an essential function of this job.
