Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Falls Church, VA is hiring a Meat Cutter to stock, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats. You will assist Members in selecting cuts, prepare special meat arrangements, and maintain sanitation and safety standards in the meat department.

The role requires completion of a training program or apprenticeship and prior meat cutting experience; wrapping machines knowledge is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages and assists Members by making recommendations and answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company standards; weighs, packages, wraps and labels as required.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, and cheeses according to expiration dates and maintains inventory.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards in the meat department and equipment.
