Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a meat department team member in our Bowie, MD location. The role involves receiving, cutting, grinding, wrapping and merchandising fresh and processed meats, while ensuring quality and sanitation standards are met.

You will help members with recommendations and meat selections throughout the department. The position requires completion of a training/apprenticeship and prior meat-cutting experience; knowledge of wrapping machines is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages and provides assistance to our Members by making recommendations along with answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Cuts, grinds, and/or processes fresh meats to company cutting standards.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
