Job summary

Velo3D in Fremont, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work with process and manufacturing engineers, building and testing system components for R&D and production teams. The role is on-site, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with occasional overtime, and will transition to Livermore after 6–8 months.

You will assemble components, test performance with metrology equipment, monitor for defects, maintain detailed testing records, manage inventory, and collaborate with manufacturing, shipping, print shop,

Qualifications

• Three years plus hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Preference for experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.
• Proficiency with basic computer tools including Excel.
• Excellent work ethic and organization.
• Drive for quality and continuous improvement.
• Honesty and accountability for mistakes; able to remediate.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards.
• Test system components for performance using metrology equipment.
• Monitor material and parts for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials in inventory.
• Upscale problems and communicate suggestions for improvement.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, shipping, print shop, and engineering to bring systems online.
