Job summary

Velo3D, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to assemble and test one-of-a-kind system components for R&D and manufacturing teams. You will work under process and manufacturing engineers, performing precision assembly and metrology testing.

The role requires on-site work in Fremont, CA initially (6–8 months) with relocation to Livermore, CA, occasional travel, and a stable day shift. Benefits include healthcare coverage and 401(k) contributions, with potential for bonus/equity opportunities.

Qualifications

• Three years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery preferred.
• Strong work ethic and high organizational skills.
• Honesty and accountability to quickly remediate mistakes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components with precision.
• Test system components for performance using metrology equipment.
• Monitor materials and parts for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials in inventory.
• Escalate problems and communicate improvement suggestions.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and shipping to send components.
• Collaborate with print shop to develop system operation skills.
• Work with engineering on system bring-up.
