Job summary

Velo3D, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble critical system components, test performance with advanced metrology, and monitor materials for defects. The role supports R&D and manufacturing teams, emphasizing precision and documentation.

Expect on-site work in Fremont, CA initially with a transition to Livermore, CA, and occasional travel for installations. The schedule is Mon-Fri 2:00pm–10:30pm with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Mechanical aptitude and at least three years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Preference for experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.
• Excellent work ethic and uncompromising drive for excellence.
• Good organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records.
• Motivation to identify problems and implement quality improvements.
• Honesty and responsibility for mistakes to remediate quickly.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components, maintaining precision and high standards.
• Test system components for performance using metrology equipment.
• Monitor materials and parts for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials in inventory.
• Elevate problems and communicate improvement suggestions.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and shipping to send components where needed.
• Collaborate with print shop team to develop skills for operating systems.
• Work with engineering to develop skills required for system bring-up.
